I am in love with the adult version of the stuffed bear.

On a recent trip to Bermuda, I had the best facial of my life at La Serena Spa located in the gorgeous Reefs Hotel & Spa. After the facial, I was led to a chair overlooking the infinity pool below and beyond that the turquoise blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean. I was already in heaven, but then my therapist Annelize brought out a cup of tea with milk and sugar and a Bucky NeckWrap that she’d warmed in a microwave and placed around my shoulders.

Reason No. 156 to finally put the brakes on my fabulous single life and seek out a boyfriend: The Jimmyjane massage candle.

My favorite Brooklyn boutique, Diana Kane, carries them and I’ve gone ga-ga for the scents which are just slightly masculine. This is a good thing because you’re meant to light them, blow out the candle and then use the oil for massage. If you worry about burning someone and therefore putting a damper on the evening, don’t. Apparently the resulting oil heats to just the perfect temperature.

I just got back from Bermuda where I enjoyed myself immensely in the sun, surf and spas. Really, no beach vacation is complete without a trip to the spa and Tucker’s Point Hotel & Spa boasts the newest and most exclusive spa in Bermuda. I enjoyed the Beekeeper No. 5 Honey and Cane Sugar Scrub there, after which I rinsed off in a $100,000 Tag Shower (there are only 2 other spas in the world with this shower), and followed that with an aloe massage. I was in absolute heaven.

I’m off for a week-long vacation to Bermuda today and I got my manicure and pedicure yesterday. While my pedicure will last a good 2 weeks or more, my manicure tends to start peeling about 4 days after I get it and I hate the way nail polish looks when it’s peeling.

So what to do on a vacation? I don’t want to do my own nails (too lazy!) and I don’t want to spend valuable vacation time in a salon, so I plan to carry a nail polish wipe in my makeup bag. Cutex makes them in little towelette form and I keep them in my purse for those moments when my manicure is peeling and I find myself in the middle of Manhattan (or Bermuda). Also, I got a light pink color so the peeling won’t be so noticeable. I figure this will buy me a day!

I’m a firm believer that when a person has a pimple on their face they assume that pimple is as large as Mount Rainier. This is because not only can you feel the pimple growing without even touching it, when you do touch it with the greasy pad of your finger it’s GINORMOUS. This causes you to do strange things when out in public like cover your face with your hand while talking to someone or turning your head sideways so that someone can’t see the pimple. Or maybe you blurt out, “I have a ginormous pimple on my face!” <p>

The hottest new hair color for summer is brunette with blonde, sun-kissed highlights (dubbed “bronde” by celebrity stylist Kim Vo).

To get this look, you want to start with brown hair and ask your colorist to paint on 2 different blondes on the top layers only. Hair painting is called “baliage” and looks more natural than foils. The two colors add dimension and depth to hair.

One secret lies in conditioning. It’s important to deep condition hair every time you wash it. I like a light pink nail polish in summer, it looks fresh and clean and goes well with a tan, plus you can’t tell when it chips as much as you can with darker colors. Today, while getting my nails done in Park Slope, Brooklyn, I overheard a woman tell the manicurist she wanted to try Essie’s “Options Pink” layered over Essie’s “Ballerina Slippers.” According to her friend, who she said is always wearing the best nail colors, this is a great combo. I took a peek during the application and we both agreed we liked it. Next time, I’m going for it.
